Organize Beads
Sort all the beads by size, color, shape, etc., and ensure their quality and appearance meet the requirements. If necessary, clean and polish the beads to make their surface smoother. -
Prepare the Cord
Choose an appropriate length of elastic cord or fishing line. Elastic cord is usually more suitable for making prayer bead necklaces as it is stretchy and more comfortable to wear. When you've strung about half of the beads, start installing the Buddha head and connectors. Pass both ends of the cord through the two holes of the connector, and then out of the top hole, forming a ring.
Slide the Buddha head onto the cord and pass both ends of the cord through the two holes of the Buddha head. Adjust its position so that it is centered on the necklace, with the connector tightly joined to the Buddha head. -
Continue Stringing the Beads
Continue stringing the remaining beads from the other side of the connector, following the same pattern as before, until all the beads are strung. -
Install End Beads and Counter (Optional)
At the other end of the necklace, install the end bead if desired. End beads are usually larger or more special beads used to decorate and balance the overall effect of the necklace.
